Filipino animated feature Zsazsa Zaturnnah has been nominated for Best Animated Film at the 19th Asia Pacific Screen Awards, The Philippine Times reported on 19 October. The Philippines–France co-production, directed by Filipino filmmaker Avid Liongoren, is nominated alongside its director and producer Franck Priot.

Based on the Filipino graphic novel by Carlo Vergara, the film follows Ada, a shy gay man who swallows a magical stone from outer space that transforms him into a female superhero. The Philippine Times describes it as combining Filipino humour, fantasy and LGBTQ+ storytelling.

Australian audiences can see the film at Event Cinemas Pacific Fair on the Gold Coast on Friday 30 October at 10am, as part of the Asia Pacific Screen Awards and Forum program running from 28 to 30 October. A question-and-answer session is scheduled in connection with the screening. The awards ceremony will be held at The Star Gold Coast the same day.

The film had its world premiere at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival in France in June 2026, in the Midnight Specials program. Two Filipino producers also sit on this year's juries: Bianca Balbuena chairs the Youth, Animation and Documentary International Jury, and Bradley Liew serves on the MPA APSA Academy Film Fund Jury, according to The Philippine Times.
