Filipino Restaurant Week 2026 returns bigger and better across New Zealand

April 28, 2026

The Philippine Embassy in New Zealand has announced the return of Filipino Restaurant Week for 2026, expanding to more cities with more participating restaurants and chefs showcasing Filipino cuisine.

The Philippine Embassy in Wellington has officially launched the 2026 Filipino Restaurant Week, promising a bigger and better celebration of Filipino cuisine across New Zealand.

Building on the success of the inaugural event in 2025, this year's Restaurant Week will feature more participating restaurants, pop-up kitchens, and food stalls in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, and for the first time, Hamilton and Tauranga.

From traditional adobo and sinigang to innovative fusion creations, Filipino Restaurant Week serves as a platform to highlight the outstanding Filipino chefs, restaurateurs, and food entrepreneurs who are putting Philippine flavours on New Zealand's culinary map.

The embassy has partnered with Filipino food curators and community organisations to coordinate menus, events, and special dining experiences throughout the week. Participating businesses will offer set menus, tasting plates, and signature dishes designed to introduce New Zealand diners to the diversity of Filipino regional cuisine.

Little Manila NZ, a prominent Filipino food collective, returns as a key partner, curating restaurant selections and promoting the event across social media channels.

The announcement comes during Filipino Food Month, with the embassy encouraging Filipino-owned food businesses to register early to secure their place in the lineup.
