Filipino Restaurant Week runs 2 to 15 November with eateries from Auckland to Christchurch
The Philippine Embassy in New Zealand has named the restaurants, cafés and food vendors taking part in Filipino Restaurant Week, which runs from 2 to 15 November 2026 in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, Hastings, Palmerston North and Rotorua.
Filipino Restaurant Week will run from 2 to 15 November 2026, the Philippine Embassy in New Zealand announced on 24 October, with Filipino restaurants, cafés and online food vendors across New Zealand coming together to showcase Filipino culinary heritage. The embassy said this year's edition is bigger, with a variety of ways to experience Filipino cuisine.
In Auckland, the embassy's list of participants is Bar Magda, Homecooked NZ, Nanam Takapuna, Mommy Panadera NZ, Tinapay Atbp, Whisk and Brew NZ and VerraCoffee New Zealand. The Wellington line-up is Casa Sabrosa, Faithful Flavours, Fiesta in the Capital, Lazy Juan and Little Manila.
Elsewhere, Sálo Filipino Eatery is taking part in Christchurch, Pinazarap FoodFiesta in Hastings, Kulinarya NZ in Palmerston North, and The Coffee Veans and Kiwihana Treats in Rotorua, according to the embassy.
Philippine ambassador Kira Azucena told BusinessDesk the aim is “cultural diplomacy through food”. BusinessDesk reported that the restaurants taking part will each offer a set menu to showcase Filipino food, and that purple ube will likely feature on many menus. It described Bar Magda as a Michelin Guide selection restaurant and Lazy Juan as a Wellington on a Plate burger winner.
The first Filipino Restaurant Week in New Zealand ran from 20 to 26 October 2025 with restaurants in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin. After that debut, the embassy said it aimed to make the event an annual celebration.
