Halal Filipino eatery Tara Na! By Easy Eatz SG plans November move from Punggol East Container Park
Tara Na! By Easy Eatz SG, a halal Filipino food stall at Punggol East Container Park, plans to move to a new spot nearby in Punggol in November, owner Nurnisa Jonson told Berita Harian, even after agencies offered some of the area's main tenants lease extensions to end-2027.
Tara Na! By Easy Eatz SG, the halal Filipino food stall at Punggol East Container Park, is going ahead with plans to move next month, Berita Harian reported. Owner Nurnisa Jonson said the eatery planned to relocate in November to a new spot close to the container park, so regular customers and delivery orders from the area could still reach it easily.
The Singapore Land Authority told The Straits Times in September that the tenancy for the container park site at 50 Punggol East Road runs to 31 December 2026 and that the site is needed for future residential redevelopment. In early October, Punggol GRC MP Yeo Wan Ling announced that four main tenants in Punggol East and Tebing Lane would be offered extensions of up to a year, to the end of 2027, according to Berita Harian. Tara Na said it would keep to its own plan.
Jonson grew Tara Na! from a home-based business, and she told The Straits Times the container park had been a blessing for it. She said she was worried about the employees who had helped make the business successful.
One long-time customer told The Straits Times she first discovered the food during the Covid-19 pandemic, when it was still a home-based business, and planned to keep supporting it. "I will follow her (Nurnisa) wherever she goes," she said.
