Filipino pop-rock sensation The Itchyworms are taking their signature OPM sound to New Zealand this September for the "Akin Ka Na Lang New Zealand Tour." The four-city concert series aims to strengthen cultural ties with Filipino communities across New Zealand while introducing Original Pilipino Music to a wider international audience, as reported by Pinoy Aksyon News and Wazzup.ph.

The tour kicks off in Auckland on September 18 at Galatos, followed by a performance in Wellington on September 19 at Notre Dame Performing Arts Center. The band will then head to Queenstown for a show on September 25 at the Queenstown Memorial Centre, concluding their New Zealand run in Christchurch on September 26 at Christ’s College Auditorium, according to The Manila Times.

Vocalist and guitarist Jugs Jugueta expressed humility regarding the growing global interest in Filipino culture and music, stating it is "really great that the world is now discovering all things Filipino." He also encouraged Filipinos in New Zealand to invite their Kiwi friends and family to the concerts, aiming to share the vibrant Filipino party spirit with a broader audience. Drummer and vocalist Jazz Nicolas noted the band's appeal across generations, attributing it to their ability to infuse witty or profound lyrics into catchy pop melodies.

Tickets for the highly anticipated shows are available through Fast Events, with Standing VIP access, including a photo opportunity, priced at NZ$99, and Standing General Admission tickets at NZ$69. The Itchyworms hope this tour will further expand OPM's reach and introduce their distinctive music to even more international listeners.
