Nurse practitioner Jacqueline Juele-Schuster, who succeeded Laarni Florencio as president of the Philippine Nurses Association of New York, told The FilAm her 2026–2028 theme is 'Be a PILLAR: From Vision to Reality' as the 1929-founded group prepares for its centennial.

Jacqueline Juele-Schuster has become president of the Philippine Nurses Association of New York (PNANY), succeeding Laarni Florencio at the group's 29th biennial induction and awards gala in the Bronx, tofanews reported. A new executive board and board of directors were inducted for the 2026–2028 term.

PNANY was founded in 1929 and is preparing to celebrate its centennial in 2029. In an interview with The FilAm, Juele-Schuster said her theme for the term is "Be a PILLAR: From Vision to Reality", standing for Providing, Inclusivity, Learning, Legacy, Advocacy and Resilience.

"I want experienced nurses to have opportunities to mentor younger nurses, internationally educated nurses to feel welcomed and supported, and our members to recognize that their voices matter," she told The FilAm.

Juele-Schuster is Wound Care Team Leader and Adult Nurse Practitioner at NYC Health + Hospitals/Carter, with advanced practice expertise in wound and ostomy care. She studied biology at the University of the Philippines and nursing at Riverside College of Nursing in Bacolod City before earning master's degrees from Long Island University.
