Mrs. World Philippines Czarina Umali organises Placentia's first Filipino American History Month celebration at Cafe 86
After hearing that Cafe 86's Placentia location could close for lack of foot traffic, Mrs. World Philippines 2026 Czarina Umali organised the city's first Filipino American History Month celebration at the cafe, scheduled for Sunday 25 October.
Mrs. World Philippines 2026 Czarina Umali has organised Placentia's first Filipino American History Month celebration, scheduled for Sunday 25 October at 4pm at Cafe 86 in Placentia, California, The Global Filipino Magazine reported.
The idea began when Umali was going from business to business in Placentia seeking support for her son's volleyball team. At Cafe 86, Earl, who owns the cafe's Placentia location, told her the branch was facing the possibility of closing because of a lack of foot traffic and visibility. "Instead of simply watching another Filipino-owned establishment disappear, I wanted to create a reason for people to come together and bring visibility to the space," she told the magazine.
The celebration was planned to bring together Filipino American businesses and vendors, musicians, performers, artists, clubs and organisations, with food and cultural showcases. Umali credited Andrew Ernacio of Three Kings Media and Justin Gonzales, known as JutsMusic, with helping make it happen. She will represent the Philippines at Mrs. World in Las Vegas in January 2027.
"Pageantry has given me a platform, but this experience has reminded me that the real value of a title is what you do with it," Umali said. Cafe 86's Placentia location is at 1241 E. Imperial Highway.
