Pinays Manitoba has opened nominations for its 2027 Pinay Trailblazer Awards, which recognise women of Filipino heritage with strong ties to Manitoba, with completed nominations due by 11:59 p.m. on 15 December 2026.

Pinays Manitoba has opened nominations for the 2027 Pinay Trailblazer Awards, an annual recognition of women of Filipino heritage who are making a meaningful impact in Manitoba, across Canada and beyond, Pilipino Express reported. The registered non-profit community organisation is dedicated to empowering Filipino women throughout the province.

To be eligible, nominees must be a woman of Filipino descent, at least 18 years old, with integrity and strong ties to Manitoba. They must not be a current member of Pinays Manitoba Inc., must agree to the nomination, and must have made significant contributions to the community through paid work or volunteer service. First-time nominees and previous nominees who have not yet received the award are welcome, but self-nominations are not accepted.

Nomination forms can be requested by emailing pinaysmbinc@gmail.com. The deadline for completed nominations is 11:59 p.m. on 15 December 2026, and late or incomplete submissions will not be considered. Those selected must agree to attend the recognition awards ceremony in May 2027.

At the 2026 awards and 10th anniversary gala in May, Pinays Manitoba honoured Dr. Alysa Almojuela, Dr. Bon Abigail Castillo, Engr. Aimee Intac-Leung and Venus Ramos, and launched the Pinays Manitoba Student Awards, an endowment supporting Filipina youth in post-secondary education. "A woman does not have to be famous to be extraordinary," the nomination call says.
