UNDISCOVERED SF marks 10 years with free Golden Hour Night Market on Ritch Street

By Kislap Editorial ·

UNDISCOVERED SF, the Filipino-inspired night market run with Kultivate Labs, marks its tenth anniversary with a free, all-ages Golden Hour Night Market in San Francisco's SoMa on Saturday, 24 October.

UNDISCOVERED SF is bringing its night market back for the first time since the pandemic to mark its tenth anniversary, Kultivate Labs announced. The Golden Hour Night Market is free for all ages and takes place on Saturday, 24 October, on Ritch Street between Townsend and Brannan. The market runs from 4 p.m. until 10 p.m. A separate afterparty for ages 21 and over follows.

The event is held in partnership with Victory Hall, which will host a special exhibition honouring the history of the legendary nightclub that once made this block pulse after dark. Food vendors include Mestiza, Little Skillet, Señor Sisig, Café 86 and Ube Area, and retailers include Malaya Botanicals, Mie Makes, Native Sol and Sunkissed Pinay. UNDISCOVERED is a Kultivate Labs program supporting SoMa Pilipinas, San Francisco's Filipino cultural district, SF News Today reported.

Since 2017, UNDISCOVERED SF has served as the nation's first Filipino inspired night market and a launchpad for small businesses. According to Kultivate Labs, its vendors have generated more than $1.3 million in sales over nine years, and 11 food vendors have expanded into a brick-and-mortar location or food truck.

"Ten years ago, I started UNDISCOVERED SF with Kultivate Labs because I wanted a space where our Filipino entrepreneurs, artists, and modern Fil-Am culture could be seen and celebrated through a hip hop/street culture lens," said Gina Mariko Rosales, founder and CEO of Make It Mariko. "This will be my last year producing UNDISCOVERED SF, and I couldn't think of a better way to mark ten years than by celebrating everything this community has built together."
