Mayor Brown emphasized that motorists, including many Filipino commuters and those in trades, would adapt to the charges as they have responded to recent fuel crises, opting for public transport or adjusting travel times.

Auckland's severe traffic congestion is estimated to cost the city $2.6 billion this year, impacting everything from lost personal time to reduced business investment and consumer spending, according to Auckland Transport and a report by EY and ARUP.
