Filipino cosplayer Sergio Sta. Ana will represent the Philippines in the invite-only All Stars division of Cosplay Fight Club at Game On, Dreamers!, a three-day gaming and entertainment festival in Singapore, the Daily Tribune reported on 4 November.
The festival runs from 11 to 13 December at the Marina Bay Sands Expo & Convention Centre.
Who is Sergio Sta. Ana
Pinoy Gaming Network describes Sta. Ana as a cosplayer, crafter and tailor since 2010 who is known for detailed armour and mechanical builds.
How Cosplay Fight Club works
Cosplay Fight Club has cosplayers bring characters to life through choreographed stage fights. Besides the invite-only All Stars division, Pinoy Gaming Network noted that Filipino cosplayers can also register for the Open category. The judges include Hollywood action veteran Richard Cetrone and Japanese cosplay pioneer Nobuyuki Takahashi.
What else is on
The festival is split into three zones. Dream World will feature immersive gaming environments, interactive challenges, themed cafés and nostalgic arcade experiences. Dream Battle hosts tournaments in titles including Mobile Legends: Bang Bang and Street Fighter, plus the inaugural Red Bull Wings Cup EA Sports FC27. Dream Play offers family-friendly entertainment through a large arcade set up with Timezone. The festival will also host R.E.M., a two-night electronic music event featuring international artists including Lost Frequencies, Brennan Heart and Lilly Palmer.
"We are building more than a gaming festival; we are creating a shared playground where different worlds, generations and communities can meet, discover a new experience and imagine what comes next," festival executive producer Terence Kuek said.
