Hong Kong-based Filipino boxer Carlo Bacaro will fight undefeated Chinese boxer Sairike Tuolewutayi for the WBO Oriental welterweight title at Verano Promotions' The Encounter 3 at Harbour Grand Hong Kong on 21 November 2026.
Hong Kong-based Filipino boxer Carlo Bacaro will fight for the World Boxing Organization (WBO) Oriental welterweight title against undefeated Chinese boxer Sairike Tuolewutayi on 21 November 2026, SunStar Cebu reported.
The bout is part of Verano Promotions' The Encounter 3 card at the Harbour Grand Hong Kong in North Point. Event listings on HK01 and Tessera say the night is scheduled to run from 5pm to 10pm.
From Cebu to Hong Kong
Bacaro started his career in Cebu City and won his first 12 bouts, according to SunStar. His unbeaten run ended in his 13th fight, when he was knocked out by Pavel Sosulin in the third round in Armenia last year. He moved to Hong Kong that year and now trains at the Verano Boxing Gym.
Earlier this year he lost a bid for the WBO Asia-Pacific super-welterweight belt to Ryota Toyoshima in Japan, by ninth-round technical knockout. He dropped down in weight and won the World Boxing Foundation (WBF) Silver welterweight crown on 26 July with a second-round knockout of Thai veteran Channarong Injampa in Cebu City.
SunStar puts Bacaro's record at 15-2 with nine knockouts.
His opponent
Tuolewutayi is 5-0-1 with three knockouts, with six pro bouts in a career that started in 2021. In his first international bout this year, he fought Filipino Ador Torres in Thailand and settled for a split draw, SunStar said.
Another Filipino on the card
Filipino prospect Jaervi Hernani (2-0, 1 KO) will also fight on the card, against China's Yang Weilin (2-0, 2 KOs). The HK01 listing names Hernani and Brondell Medina among the undercard prospects from VBC, and says all proceeds will go towards developing professional boxing in Hong Kong and VBC's amateur boxing programme.
