Multicultural Nelson Tasman Hosts Filipino Food and Culture Workshop in Motueka

The Filipino community and other residents in New Zealand's Nelson Tasman region are invited to immerse themselves in Filipino culinary traditions and cultural exchange at the upcoming "Multicultural Kai and Kōrero – Food from the Philippines" event. Hosted by Multicultural Nelson Tasman, this session promises a morning of hands-on cooking, shared dining, and insightful discussions about Filipino heritage.

Scheduled for Saturday, September 20, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, the event will be held at the Motueka Community House located at 9 Greenwood Street, Motueka. A guest chef will guide participants through the preparation of traditional Filipino dishes, offering a practical way to connect with the cuisine.

Following the cooking demonstration, attendees will gather to enjoy the prepared meal, fostering connection and dialogue about Filipino culture and food. The session is designed to be welcoming for anyone interested in trying new experiences, meeting neighbors, and celebrating the diverse cultures within the Nelson Tasman community.

Multicultural Nelson Tasman, an organization dedicated to promoting positive race relations and celebrating cultural diversity across the region, is organizing the event, as noted in the Family Services Directory and Ethnic Communities Directory.
