Toasteé, a new French toast and ube concept from the team behind Soho's Panadera bakery and Filipino restaurant Donia, was announced to open at Westfield White City in London on 27 October.
The venue has been created by Florence Mae Maglanoc, founder of Panadera and Donia, alongside longtime collaborator Adrian Kyle Felipe, according to Hospitality & Catering News. It becomes the third concept within 1996 Group.
French toast and an ube drinks menu
The 15-cover venue will centre its food offer around thick-cut French toast made using house-made bread. Signature versions will include ube jam, matcha ganache and Milo cookies and cream, alongside a classic French toast with butter and maple syrup.
Time Out London describes it as London's first dedicated ube drinks menu. The announced drinks include:
- Ube milk
- Ube latte
- Ube matcha cold foam
- Ube banana milk
- Ube coconut cold foam
- Ube horchata
House-made ice cream flavours include ube, pandan coconut, strawberry cheesecake and miso caramel, and Toasteé will also sell sweet baked goods.
"Ube has been at the heart of my career in hospitality, inspiring countless desserts and beverages over the years, so it's incredibly rewarding to bring one of London's first ube-forward concepts alongside Florence, who has been a massive inspiration to me ..." - Adrian Kyle Felipe
