Philippine Consulate in Hong Kong brings services back under one roof in renovated 14th-floor office

By Kislap Editorial ·

The Philippine Consulate General in Hong Kong was due to reopen its renovated 14th-floor offices at United Centre, Admiralty, on 25 October after 11 months, with passport, civil registry, voter registration, SSS and Pag-IBIG services back in one place.

The Philippine Consulate General in Hong Kong was due to reopen its renovated offices on the 14th floor of United Centre in Admiralty on Sunday, 25 October, after 11 months of renovation, bringing all of its services back under one roof, The SUN HK reported.

The consulate closed the 14th-floor premises on 16 November last year. During the works, its services were spread across the OFW Global Centre on the 18th floor of the same building, the 29th floor, which houses the Migrant Workers Office, and an additional office on the 26th floor. The SUN reported at the time that the renovation was the first facelift for the office since the consulate began occupying the entire floor in the early 2000s.

Services on the 14th floor

According to The SUN, the renovated premises will again provide:

  • Passport services
  • Notarial and NBI services
  • Civil registry and citizenship services
  • Assistance to nationals services (for non-OFWs)
  • Visa services for foreign nationals
  • Overseas voters registration
  • Pag-IBIG Fund services
  • Social Security System (SSS) services

Where labour and welfare concerns go

With the consulate back on the 14th floor, the Migrant Workers Office on the 29th floor will revert to handling labour-related concerns such as contract verification, overseas employment certificates and assistance to workers. The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration will continue providing services at the OFW Global Centre on the 18th floor.

For details, Filipinos can contact the consulate's main line on 2823 8500 or 8501, or its hotline on 9155 4023, The SUN reported.
