By Kislap Editorial ·

DigiPlus Interactive Corp said on 14 October 2026 it will abstain from the final rounds of New Zealand's auction for the right to apply for an online gaming licence, citing further market analysis.

Philippine online gaming firm DigiPlus Interactive Corp disclosed on Wednesday, 14 October 2026, that it has decided to abstain from the final rounds of New Zealand's auction on the right to apply for an online gaming licence.

In a stock exchange disclosure quoted by BusinessWorld and BusinessMirror, DigiPlus said the step followed "further market analysis and determination of market values." The company said the decision "results in no impact on the company's businesses or deviation from the company's international expansion strategy."

BusinessWorld reported that New Zealand's Department of Internal Affairs said the auction concluded after 10 rounds, with 11 entities securing the right to apply for 15 online casino licences at NZ$15 million per licence, and that successful bidders must still complete a detailed application and assessment before licences are granted.

In August, DigiPlus said its board had approved filing an expression of interest to apply for a New Zealand gaming licence. BusinessMirror said the company's expansion focus is now on South Africa after it secured a licence from the Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board.
