Philippines fully implements e-Visa system in Qatar for eligible residents visiting the Philippines
The Philippine Embassy in Doha has fully implemented the Philippine e-Visa system in Qatar from 5 October, letting eligible Qatar residents apply online for temporary visit visas to the Philippines without a passport sticker.
The Philippine Embassy in Doha has announced the full implementation of the Philippine electronic visa (e-Visa) system in Qatar, effective 5 October, allowing eligible Qatar residents to apply online for temporary visit visas to the Philippines, Gulf Times reported.
Applicants submit their applications through the official Philippine e-Visa website and pay the applicable fees by direct bank transfer where required. Once approved and issued by the embassy, the e-Visa can be accessed on a computer, laptop or mobile device, and travellers may present either a digital or printed copy. The visa will no longer be affixed to the passport.
Applicants must complete the Philippines' e-Travel registration within 72 hours before arrival, and the embassy stressed that this should not be done before the e-Visa is issued. Philippine e-Visas cannot be converted into other visa types, and the authorised period of stay cannot be extended.
Foreign nationals travelling to the Philippines for study, employment or other non-tourism purposes are advised to apply for a regular visa sticker through the embassy. Travel and Tour World noted that eligibility still depends on nationality, passport status and purpose of travel, and that Qatar residency alone does not establish eligibility.
